إن عملية تخطيط الإنتاج عملية معقدة وتتطلب جهد عالي ووقت كبير وخاصة إنها فعالية ديناميكية تتغير متغيراتها الأساسية باستمرار مع الزمن، مما يتطلب استخدام إحدى أساليب بحوث العمليات
(البرمجة الديناميكية) Dynamic programming لما لها من قوة فعالة ومؤثرة في عملية صنع القرار في التخطيط والسيطرة على الإنتاج وتأثيرها المباشر على كلفة العملية الإنتاجية والسيطرة على الخزين .
