توسع اهتمام الباحثين في السنوات الاخيرة بموضوع تقدير معلمة الدليل الذيلي لتوزيع باريتو نظرا لتوسع تطبيق هذا التوزيع في مجال علم القياس الاقتصادي ونظرية المعولية.
لقد تم في هذا البحث محاولة لإستخدام مقدر جديد يعرف بمقدر الوسيط العام وتمت مقارنته مع مقدرات طريقتي العزوم والامكان الاعظم باستخدام مقياس متوسط مربعات الخطأ (MSE) وبتوظيف اسلوب المحاكاة لتحقيق المقارنة. وتم التوصل الى ان مقدر الوسيط العام يكون الأكفأ من بين كل المقدرات المدروسة.
